Computer users may experience a lot of memory issues due to low virtual memory. This could happen of too many applications running at a time and consuming too much of memory space. It could be too much for the computer to handle. You can solve this issue by increasing the virtual memory of the computer.
Here is how to increase the virtual memory space in Windows XP system:
- Click the ‘Start’ button. From there, you need to select ‘run’. Type “sysdm.cpl” followed by hitting ‘enter’ key.
- In the windows, you can see, you need to switch to the ‘Advanced’ tab. Under ‘virtual memory’ section, click ‘change’ button.
- Choose the drive, where your operating system is stored and this is the same drive, where you need to make the changes to your virtual memory. So, click on the ‘customize size’ button under ‘paging file size for selected drive’ section.
- You can change the size manually. Click on ‘set’ button followed by ‘ok’ to exit the window.
Now, your computer’s performance will be better than before.
